Mood: needing time out
22nd September 2007
Mt. Biking: Cwmcarn
Wind Direction:
Wind Stength: none
Surf / Sea State:
Air Temperature: 18C
Sea Temperature:
Weather: cloudy
Max Speed: 43.3km/h (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 20km (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Arrived 10:00. No sign of the others. Set off to do the 1st bit of climb - up to the ranger hut, & back down to the car park. Still no sign of the others.

A couple of phone calls later revealed a slight cock-up on the organisation front that meant I was by myself!! Oh well.

Before setting off again, I decided to swap tyres from Panaracer Trailrakers to Conti Gravities - just by way of comparison. In the wet conditions, it probably wasn\'t the smartest move. Although the Gravities are wider, they slide around more on wet rocks, roots & slippy off-camber bits. Time for some grippier-in-the-wet tyres, methinks.

Current level of (un)fitness meant 65 mins up to the top. Did the freeride section, then back up to do the Airstream singletrack section (not done that since the freeride bit opened).

A good day, with the added bonus of not getting stuck on the M4 either way.
